We recommend scanning your documents in whatever quick and legible format you can to begin with. Some of our clients have found apps such as camscanner quite handy, it allows you to quickly photo your documents on your smartphone and upload to the portal in one go in PDF format. It’s pretty clever, it really looks like a scan if you line it up properly.

Lenders can usually accept good PDF copies of your documents so please double check that you haven’t cut anything off during the scanning process.

We don’t normally need original documents however the lender will reserve the right to ask for original documents. ‘Original’ doesn’t actually mean the lender needs you to send the document to them, instead it means your adviser needs to certify that they have seen the original document. Your adviser will endeavour to make this as hassle free as possible so if you’re not too far away we can usually come and certify to documents at your convenience.
